Plume forecast for Japan: 3/27

Plume expected to remain over water toward the southeast through Monday morning March 28 Japan Standard Time (JST).  Nested (45/15/5/km) data-assimilating forecast model with tracer release (lighter gray contours are higher concentrations) shows that the plume will stay a narrow band well offshore, while winds will shift it increasingly to the south through Monday morning. [Plume images are a research tool; contours are arbitrary units for visualization purposes.]
